Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, The Film Crew, or Cinematic Titanic and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are obnoxious, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

MSTie Counts Every Single Riff Ever, Remains Alone

And now a remarkable, and perhaps terrifying, piece of info from Satellite News. A MSTie by the name of Andrew decided to watch every single episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and count every single riff spoken in the theater. Is your mind blown yet? Well, try reading this mind-boggling list of riff-related statistics. He counted the number of riffs, worked out the riffs-per-minute for each episode, and the list of useless-but-fascinating statistics goes on. It’s definitely worth a look.

If you’re wondering, the episode with the highest RPM is 422, The Day the Earth Froze. I also found it fascinating that the series’ riffing apparently peaked between seasons 4 and 8, which totally validates my opinion that seasons 5 through 7 were the best of the series. Nyah. (Yes, I know, more riffing does not equal more funny.)
