Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic, or Shout Factory and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are dumb, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

New Rifftrax Short: “If Mirrors Could Speak”

No sooner had I put up the last Rifftrax post, then this pops up in my inbox. Another On Demand short is online now. If Mirrors Could Speak is a delicious, and somewhat disturbing, 1970s PSA about how children’s insecurities manifest themselves at school. They apparently manifest themselves by turning the children into frightening clowns and mimes. The short is 99 cents and DRM-free, as usual.

This one is a doozy. While I was working on my fan-riff series, I went through a good number of the shorts that Mike, Bill, and Kevin have been riffing, and I nearly used this one. In fact, I’m not sure exactly why I scrapped it in mid-riff. Bizarre and poorly acted characters, raw ’70s style, the horrors of clowns… Solid gold.
