Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic, or Shout Factory and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are dumb, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

Next Rifftrax: Independence Day

Well, looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for our Pottertrax fix. Rifftrax has once again plowed the fields of the most deserving, obvious films imaginable. That Devlin-Emmerich end-of-the-world romp, Independence Day, is next in the Rifftrax queue. If you’re unable to remember which film this is, it’s the one in which Will Smith fights computer-generated bad guys and throws out an endless stream of cocky one-liners. Getting warmer? No? Well, it also features Randy Quaid as a hick. Better? Uh, Jeff Goldblum as a Jewish guy with 1337 haxxing skillz? Well, no matter. The commentary will be available on August 14th. As usual, the poster is after the cut.
