Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, or Cinematic Titanic and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are obnoxious, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

MJP’s Thoughts On The Bridge Collapse

Many of you have probably already heard about the recent bridge collapse in Minneapolis that has, so far, taken five lives. Now, I try not to drag too much real-life drama into this blog, since this is a happy rainbow cupcake land where elves and midgets ride pink unicorns through fields of marshmallow Peeps and dancing babies, but this tragedy hits a little bit close to home for us MSTies. Remember, Mystery Science Theater was produced in Minnesota, and some of the Brains still live there.

Mary Jo Pehl (who lives in Texas now) updated her blog, yesterday, with an entry about her thoughts on the incident. It’s an excellent read and it’s fascinating (if that’s the right word) to hear the thoughts of someone so personally connected to the disaster. For those wondering, the Murphys, Corbetts, and Mallons are all safe and sound.
