Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, or Cinematic Titanic and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are obnoxious, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

Rifftrax’s One-Year Anniversary

Though I have absolutely no recollection of Rifftrax starting in the summertime, it apparently did. In fact, July 20th is its first birthday. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the folks at Rifftrax are holding the – deep breath – RiffTrax One Year Anniversary Music Composition Contest. In short, they want you to come up with new lead-in music for the Rifftrax commentaries. The winner will snag for him- or herself a $100 Rifftrax gift certificate, two Rifftrax t-shirts, and an autographed picture of one Mr. Michael J. Nelson, no doubt suitable for framing. Read through this forum thread for more info, or just get the bare facts here.

This is a little outside of the realm of my abilities, but I would like to make a special request to those of you entering this contest: Don’t suck. Please. We’re going to have to listen to this in front of every single Rifftrax. Just sayin’.
