Deep Ape is not officially connected to Best Brains, Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic, or Shout Factory and is 100% independent. The views expressed here are dumb, probably wrong, and they in no way represent the views of the aforementioned. Amen.

Reminder: Rifftrax Live! (and Frank)

I am not a fan of California. Sure, I don’t have anything personal against it, but I’ve never really bought into the hype. Rifftrax, however, is changing all that. That’s right, in case you lucky Californians forgot, there are two Rifftrax Live! shows coming up really soon.

Lucky ducks will be able to catch Mike, Kevin, and Bill riffing on Lord-knows-what, this Sunday and Monday. (I’ll save the details for the official press release, hidden behind the cut.) Remember that Frank Conniff will also be making an appearance in Cali this Sunday, at a live recording of an episode of Doctor Floyd. The folks at Rifftrax will, hopefully, have a recap of the Rifftrax festivities up sometime in the coming weeks, and I’d love it if someone could get their Frank on and send pictures and a report, from the Floyd show.

The Rifftrax show isn’t going unnoticed, either. Bayflicks gives it a mention, and the Marin Independent Journal has a nice little article and interview with Mike, Bill, and Kevin. Now, on to the relevant details…

PRESS RELEASE

In this special return engagement, the merry madmen behind television cult-favorite Mystery Science Theater 3000 will storm the stage and do what they do best: provide glib and hilarious live commentary to a feature-length B movie!

SF Sketchfest presents Michael J. Nelson (MST3K’s lovable “Mike Nelson”), Bill Corbett (robot “Crow” and alien “Brain Guy”) and Kevin Murphy (bubble-headed robot “Tom Servo”) as they deconstruct a movie they have handpicked for this occasion. For those of you who missed the skewering of the Ben Affleck red-spandextravaganza Daredevil at January’s SF Sketchfest, come see what all the laughter is about as they tackle a new film.
